TO KIDS FROM KIDS A Girl Scout Holiday Service Project
WELCOME! TO KIDS FROM KIDS is a service project of Girl Scouts of Northern California in the greater San Francisco Bay Area MISSION To brighten the winter holidays for physically and/or emotionally abused or neglected children by ensuring that each child receives a gift.
Project Overview	This project was started in 1985 by a social worker, Edra Robertson, in South San Francisco.  She and her Girl Scout troop collected toys to give through Social Services to children physically and/or emotionally abused, during the holiday season.   The project provides Girl Scouts with opportunities for service, leadership, and skill-building.
Project Specifics	Individuals of all ages may participate in this project to benefit children who are in the social services system, usually because of abuse. A wide range of gifts are needed but due to the sensitive circumstances, violent-theme toys are inappropriate.

Project Date	Distribution Day is usually scheduled for the second Saturday in December. In 2008, it will be December 13.
